This was the first year they allowed spectators into the NFL combine and we were lucky enough to be selected to get in! The NFL combine is an honorable invitation that only the nations top football players receive. George was one of 330 players invited and one of 19 Tight Ends that participated at the Combine in Indianapolis. George’s mom (Jan), dad (Bruce), sister (Emma) and myself attended and it was one of the greatest feelings seeing him out there performing among the nations best, and perform he did.
He high jumped 35 inches, broad jumped 132″ in or 11 feet , bench pressed 18 repetitions, and ran a 4.52 second 40 yard dash. We were squirming in our seats and when we heard his 40 time called out we nearly jumped out of our seats (but would’ve been kicked out, so we had to stay quite.) Everyone knew he was strong and knew he was smart but he needed to prove himself in the speed department and he did exactly that. He may have just been the biggest shock of the entire weekend. That’s the way he prefers it, to fly under the radar and surprise everyone when they least expect it. It’s all a waiting game now and we will find out where we end up come May. Prayers and well wishes are welcomed as this whole process can be extremely stressful and give us all anxiety! Nonetheless, we couldn’t be more proud of George and are excited to find out what’s next!

While George was running in the gauntlet drill on national television, we noticed he had tissue shoved up his nose. This quickly became the joke of the weekend.
